UM Western Stadium

Client:

University of Montana Western

Year:

TBD

Size:

24,000

The University of Montana Western is getting a new home for The Bulldogs. After playing football in their previous stadium since 1949, it was time to reimagine the space with an eye on both student and community athletic development. This feasibility study and master plan determined the grand vision for spatial and site planning for a range of purposes. The result is a plan for a new artificial turf field, seating for 1,500, and a 24,000 SF state-of-the-art athletic facility designed to do it all: fitness classes, training sessions, meetings, a ticket office, press boxes, and VIP suites. The athletic facility will include the excavation of the existing hillside, creating a natural bowl landscape feature around the new field. It wouldn’t be complete without perimeter drainage and curbing, site utilities, goal posts and field netting, and a scoreboard with video display. Guests will arrive through reimagined parking, walking and drive access that connects the new field and facility to the existing campus.
